Maryam Nawaz claims that the PTI staged the attack incident at Lahore College in order to stir up unrest

Following the failure of their sit-ins, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of fabricating a story about an alleged attack at a college in Lahore in order to sow disarray.

Maryam Nawaz claimed during a news conference in Lahore that the October 10 event was completely made up. She explained that on the day in issue, the girl who was allegedly abused wasn't even at the campus. "They said the CCTV footage was deleted, but in reality, nothing like that ever happened," she clarified. "They made up a story first, and then they started looking for the supposed victim, but there were no witnesses because the incident was made up."

Maryam said that the security guard suspected of the crime was on leave at the time, and the girl in the rumors has been in the hospital since October 2. The guard is still being investigated after being taken into custody from Sargodha.

"They took a non-existent event and turned it into a major issue, trying to mislead the public through social media campaigns," she said in her condemnation of PTI's conduct. She said that after repeatedly failing to organize protests, PTI has turned to this "dangerous plan." Maryam further disclosed that the mother of the purported victim had asked for the identity of the true conspirators to be made public.

Regardless of their political affiliation, the Chief Minister reaffirmed that anyone disseminating misleading information will face severe consequences. "This is your Pakistan as well as ours. Whether they are affiliated with Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi's party, the media, or the PTI, we have directed the appropriate authorities to begin a crackdown on individuals who are spreading this false information," she claimed.

Speaking to education officials, Maryam stressed that justice would be done and cautioned against canceling the college's registration without a valid reason. She declared, "Whoever is responsible for this staged incident will not escape punishment."

With both parties accusing the other of spreading false information and using destabilizing techniques, the fresh claim exacerbates the already escalating tensions between the ruling party and PTI. On social media, the incident has generated a lot of discussion.
